MetaProp Accelerator Unveils Six Innovative PropTech Startups for 2025 Cohort

The MetaProp Accelerator at Columbia University has announced its tenth cohort, featuring six pioneering PropTech startups selected from over 200 global applications. These innovative companies represent a diverse range of technological solutions aimed at transforming urban infrastructure, energy efficiency, and real estate technologies.

The selected startups include BuildrFi from Miami, Florida, which streamlines construction financial workflows, and Fram Energy from New York, specializing in solar deployment for rental properties. Notably, Fram Energy received a $500,000 grant from the Department of Energy in 2024 for solar technology innovations.

PopWheels, another New York-based startup, is revolutionizing urban mobility by developing an e-bike battery swap network targeting delivery workers. The company recently secured a $2.7 million Department of Energy grant to install charging infrastructure across New York City.

Additional cohort members include PropRise from San Francisco, offering AI-powered tools for real estate professionals; Ulama from New York, focusing on automated building permit compliance; and Wealthie, also from New York, which helps homeowners leverage home equity for financial growth.

These startups collectively address critical urban challenges, including decarbonization, sustainable energy, and technological optimization. Their innovations align with regulatory frameworks like New York City’s Local Law 97, which mandates energy efficiency in buildings.

The MetaProp Accelerator, since its 2015 launch, has supported 50 companies that have collectively raised over $200 million in venture funding. Graduates have been acquired by industry leaders such as JLL, Comcast, and Realtor.com.

Zach Aarons, MetaProp General Partner, emphasized the cohort’s potential to drive meaningful change in urban sustainability and real estate technology. The program continues to be a critical platform for connecting innovative startups with industry leaders, investors, and mentors.

The tenth cohort reflects a commitment to technological innovation, featuring entrepreneurs with backgrounds from prestigious institutions like Google, Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Pennsylvania. Their diverse expertise underscores the program’s role in fostering cutting-edge solutions for urban challenges.
