National Retailers Join Forces to Support Heart Health During American Heart Month

During American Heart Month this February, the American Heart Association is partnering with national retailers to combat cardiovascular disease through its Life is Why™ campaign. Research indicates that 61% of U.S. adults will develop some form of cardiovascular disease within the next three decades, underscoring the urgent need for proactive health initiatives.

A diverse group of companies, including AT&T, CVS Health, Kroger Health, and Orangetheory Fitness, will invite customers to support the organization’s mission by donating at checkout, both in-store and online. These contributions will help the Association advance its 2028 Impact Goal, which aims to drive scientific breakthroughs and implement solutions for healthier communities.

Marsha Jones, 2023-2025 volunteer chairperson of the Board of the American Heart Association, emphasized the importance of collective action. ‘To overcome today’s biggest health challenges and accelerate our future, each of us needs to be part of the progress,’ Jones stated.

The campaign will feature in-store signage and online banner ads showcasing personal stories of survival and strength, while promoting healthy lifestyle habits. New participating retailers this year include Chinese Laundry, Crayola Flowers, Reebok, and QVC, expanding the campaign’s reach and potential impact.

By supporting the Life is Why campaign, consumers can directly contribute to the American Heart Association’s century-long mission of improving cardiovascular health and reducing the prevalence of heart disease and stroke across diverse communities.
