Zonte Metals Discovers Significant Gravity Anomaly at Cross Hills Copper Project

Zonte Metals Inc. has made a notable discovery at its Cross Hills Copper Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, revealing a large, strong gravity anomaly at the Nine Mile target that could signal substantial mineral potential.

The newly identified gravity anomaly measures up to 3,700 metres in length, 3,100 metres in width, and extends approximately 900 metres deep. Located within a complex structural zone, the anomaly presents intriguing characteristics that suggest potential for mineral pathways and mineralization.

According to company President and CEO Terry Christopher, the anomaly’s positioning at a flexure in the Cross Hills fault and intersection with multiple fault sets creates a potential conduit for fluid movement. Surface exploration has already identified copper in rocks and copper-in-soil anomalies in the area.

The gravity survey, which covered an area of 4.8 by 4.5 kilometers, utilized 3D inversion processing to analyze the anomaly. Two primary target areas emerged from the analysis: a northern zone within a strong magnetic signature and a southern zone near previously identified copper-bearing drill holes.

The discovery builds upon previous exploration efforts, including a 2020 helicopter magnetic survey that initially identified the largest magnetic anomaly on the project. The spatial relationship between the new gravity anomaly and the K6 copper-bearing drill holes further enhances the site’s exploration potential.

Zonte Metals plans to conduct additional sampling and mapping in the newly defined target area, with exploration efforts set to commence as soon as snow conditions permit. The company’s systematic approach to geological exploration continues to yield promising results in the Cross Hills Copper Project.
