Comcast is set to provide over $3 million in support to small businesses across King County through its RISE program, offering critical resources to local entrepreneurs facing significant economic challenges. The initiative will award 100 businesses with comprehensive grant packages designed to enhance their operational capabilities and resilience.
The grant program, aligned with Mayor Bruce Harrell’s economic development strategy, will provide recipients with a multifaceted support package. Each selected business will receive a $5,000 monetary grant, technology makeover, creative production services, media scheduling, educational resources, and business consultation services.
Recent data from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce underscores the program’s timeliness, revealing that 58% of small business owners cite inflation as their top concern. More than one-third of small business owners are experiencing revenue challenges, the highest rate since 2021.
Eligible small businesses in King County can apply for the Comcast RISE program from May 1-31 through the program’s website. Winners will be announced in August, with community partner organizations like the Bellevue Chamber, Greater Seattle Business Association, and Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce offering free information sessions to support potential applicants.
King County is one of five regions selected by Comcast for this initiative, joining Boston, Grand Rapids, Nashville, and South Valley. Since its launch in late 2020, the RISE program has supported 14,000 entrepreneurs nationwide, demonstrating a significant commitment to small business sustainability.
The program is part of Comcast’s broader Project UP initiative, which aims to create digital opportunities and support business growth. By providing targeted resources, Comcast seeks to help small businesses stabilize, innovate, and contribute to local economic resilience.
