Comcast is set to support local entrepreneurship through its RISE program, providing 100 small businesses in the Wasatch Front region with comprehensive grant packages valued at $3 million. The initiative aims to bolster small business growth and community development across Utah.
The program will offer selected businesses a robust support package that includes a $5,000 monetary grant, a technology makeover with computer equipment and internet services, a professionally produced 30-second television commercial, media strategy consultation, and 12-month access to online entrepreneurial education resources.
Eligible small businesses located in Bluffdale, Draper, Herriman, Riverton, Sandy, South Jordan, West Jordan, and White City can apply between May 1 and May 31 through the Comcast RISE website. This region is one of five nationwide where Comcast will support 100 local businesses, bringing the total number of entrepreneurs supported since the program’s 2020 launch to 14,000.
J.D. Keller, senior vice president of Comcast’s Mountain West Region, emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses as crucial for economic development. The program is part of Comcast’s Project UP initiative, which focuses on creating digital opportunities and building a future of unlimited possibilities.
Tenisha Hicks, a previous Comcast RISE recipient and owner of Isha Recovery and Sculpt, shared her positive experience with the program, describing it as a critical resource during uncertain times that helped boost her business’s visibility and sustainability.
The comprehensive grant packages are designed to provide immediate financial support and long-term business development tools, addressing multiple challenges small businesses frequently encounter in today’s competitive economic landscape.
