Cowboy Chicken a Top Mover & Shaker for 13th Year

Fast Casual Rotisserie Chain Named Among Top 100 Brands for its Continued Growth, New Smackbird Delivery Brand and Next-Generation Store Prototype

Cowboy Chicken, the fast-growing restaurant chain known for its wood-fired rotisserie chicken, has been recognized once again by Fast Casual magazine as one of the Top 100 Movers & Shakers. This is the 13th consecutive year that Cowboy Chicken has been named to this distinguished list that celebrates brands that are leading the fast casual restaurant industry in growth and sales accomplishments as well as in setting trends and incorporating technology to enhance the customer experience. Cowboy Chicken’s consistent growth, strategic expansion into Florida with a next-generation store prototype, new Smackbird delivery-only Nashville hot chicken brand and revamped mobile app earned the restaurant a spot among the honorees on this year’s list.

“We are always extremely honored to be among the Top 100 Movers & Shakers and are fortunate to be able to contribute to the overall growth of the fast casual segment every year since 2011,” says Sean Kennedy, president and CEO of Cowboy Chicken. “We are proud of the food we serve and for the innovative menu items we continue to add for our loyal guests. They are the reason we’ve enjoyed the success we’ve had over the years.”

Fast Casual recognized Cowboy Chicken for growing from a single restaurant in Dallas to 18 company-owned and franchised locations throughout Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Oklahoma and now Florida. In 2022, Cowboy Chicken launched Smackbird, a new delivery-only brand specializing specializing in Nashville hot chicken in select markets and upgraded its mobile app to provide an improved customer-facing experience and the ability to earn loyalty points. The company recently expanded into Florida with the opening of a next-generation prototype restaurant in Orlando.

Cowboy Chicken serves all-natural, hormone-free rotisserie chickens that are hand-seasoned in store, marinated for 24 hours and then slowly roasted for two hours over a real wood-burning fire. Other dishes include chicken enchiladas, Cowboy brisket and family meals. Made-from-scratch Wild West sides complement the chicken with choices such as ranchero beans, baked mac and cheese, roasted broccoli and fried okra. Irresistible desserts include Jeanette’s homemade peach cobbler and banana puddin’. Cowboy Chicken’s hearty and healthy dishes are available during lunch and dinner for dine-in, takeout, catering and delivery.
