Oriole Resources Gears Up for Expanded Gold Exploration in Cameroon

Oriole Resources PLC is ramping up its exploration efforts at the Bibemi orogenic gold project in Cameroon. In partnership with BCM International, the company is set to embark on an ambitious drilling program aimed at confirming several new geophysical targets and potentially adding to the existing mineral resource estimate (MRE).

According to Oriole Resources CEO Tim Livesey, the recent interpretation of geophysical data has unveiled several promising new targets, distinct from the areas covered by January’s MRE upgrade. ‘We’re looking at brand-new areas for exploration,’ Livesey emphasized.

The 2024 drilling strategy will focus on defining resources at shallow depths and expanding the MRE. Livesey revealed that the company expects to drill up to five new targets, underscoring the project’s significant growth potential. Additionally, Oriole and BCM are progressing exploration at the Mbe target, with results anticipated soon.

Beyond the Bibemi project, Oriole Resources plans to advance exploration on its other licenses in Cameroon, signaling a busy year ahead with a growing local team. Livesey expressed optimism for significant resource confirmation in 2025 and maintained a dynamic exploration schedule across their portfolio. The company’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the region is evident, as it capitalizes on the promising geophysical data and exploration opportunities.
