Iriela, who recently returned from a 15-date ‘Healing World Tour’ spanning six countries, has been captivating audiences since she began her musical journey as one of the first female DJs in 1996. Drawing inspiration from her Jamaican sound system culture roots and experiences at stations like IRIE FM Jamaica and WERS FM Boston, Iriela’s sets transcend genres, seamlessly blending house, techno, funk, and soul. Joining Iriela at the ‘1978’ launch is Y.U.K.IKO, a Japanese-born, Chicago-based DJ known for her ability to rock the dance floor. In 2019, Y.U.K.IKO created her own event, ‘Inspiration Exchange’, to reconnect the spirituality of dance and foster opportunities for music to be experienced in a soulful interplay.
