Ranger Creek Brewing and Distilling’s 305 Single Malt Crowned Top Texas Whiskey

Ranger Creek Brewing and Distilling’s 305 Single Malt Whiskey has emerged victorious at the 2024 Texas Whiskey Festival, clinching the prestigious Best in Show: Grain to Glass Whiskey award. The annual competition, hosted by the Texas Whiskey Festival, determines the finest Texas bourbons, ryes, malts, and flavored whiskeys through a blind tasting by a panel of judges.

Co-Founder Jake Clements emphasized the significance of the contest, stating, ‘We view the contest and awards as a guide for people to discover new whiskeys.’ The winning whiskeys are available for purchase by the bottle or glass, with some being distributed and others exclusive to distilleries.

The judges based their decisions on the whiskeys’ enjoyability and drinkability, acknowledging that personal preferences may vary. ‘Each judge’s opinion and palate vary, so remember that the best whiskey is the one you like,’ Clements added.

In addition to Ranger Creek’s triumph, other notable winners included Still Austin Whiskey Co.’s Bottled in Bond Rye Whiskey, which took home the silver medal, and Garrison Brothers Distilling’s Ladybird Straight Bourbon, which secured the bronze.

The Texas Whiskey Festival offers attendees the opportunity to sample the award-winning whiskeys and many more, while enjoying food, cigars, and live music. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
