Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has released results from a high-resolution UAV magnetic geophysical survey at its Rowland Tungsten Property in Elko County, Nevada, marking the first modern geophysical dataset for the property. The survey aims to refine geological interpretation, identify structural controls on mineralization, and prioritize exploration targets.
The survey processed Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI), First Vertical Derivative (1VD), Second Vertical Derivative (2VD), and Analytical Signal (AS) products. Preliminary interpretation revealed multiple northeast-southwest trending magnetic lineaments, likely representing fault structures and fluid pathways. Historical workings and Phase 1 target areas correlate with these lineaments and interpreted intrusive-carbonate contacts, suggesting potential skarn horizons.
Notably, the survey identified a magnetic-high domain and adjacent magnetic-low domain south of the historical Rowland zone, which remain untested. These features may indicate extensions of the prospective skarn horizon and will be evaluated in the Phase 2 exploration program.
Blake Morgan, CEO and President of Western Star, stated, ‘The results highlight multiple structural features and magnetic domains associated with historical workings and interpreted skarn horizons. We look forward to integrating these with Phase 1 soil geochemistry to advance toward Phase 2 exploration and define priority drill targets.’
The Rowland area previously lacked high-resolution geophysical coverage. This cost-effective drone survey significantly improves the company’s ability to interpret the structural and geological setting. The data suggests the intrusive system may be more extensive than previously recognized, potentially extending the prospective contact zone beyond historically worked areas.
Western Star will integrate the geophysics with pending Phase 1 soil geochemistry results to design the Phase 2 program and refine drill targets. The company is focused on revitalizing North America’s tungsten supply through its Nevada property, a past-producing mine in a historic tungsten district.
