Main Event, the family entertainment chain, is set to open its first Minnesota location at Tamarack Hills (540 Bielenberg Drive) in Woodbury on August 3. However, a mysterious disappearance of 10 bowling pins has complicated final preparations, prompting the company to enlist the public’s help in a citywide scavenger hunt.
According to a press release, a shipment of pins never reached its destination, and the pins have been hidden throughout Woodbury. Starting July 19 through July 28, locals can visit https://mainevent.com/woodbury-lost-pins/ for daily clues to track them down. Each recovered pin earns a VIP invite for five and a full year of free games. The finder of the Golden Pin will receive the ultimate prize: Main Event for life.
“We are so excited to bring the Main Event experience to Minnesota, but we need the community’s detective skills to help us get our lanes ready for action,” said Michael Frisby, General Manager of the Woodbury Main Event. “We’ve hidden these pins throughout Woodbury, and we can’t wait to see who can track them down and claim their prize before our grand opening on August 3!”
The new venue will offer laser tag, bowling, arcade games, and other attractions, along with a full-service restaurant and bar. Menu highlights include the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich, Funnel Cake Fries, and drinks such as the Cotton Candy Shirley Temple and Margarita Flight. The company emphasizes the space is designed for families and friends to enjoy interactive games and dining in a high-energy environment.
This scavenger hunt underscores Main Event’s strategy to generate local buzz and community engagement ahead of its debut. The chain, owned by Dave & Buster’s Entertainment, operates over 60 locations in 23 states. The Woodbury opening marks its entry into Minnesota, a state where Dave & Buster’s already has a presence.
