SAF-HOLLAND SE, a leading global supplier of trailer and truck components, announced the appointment of Alexandre Charpiot as President of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, effective September 1, 2026. Charpiot, a veteran of the company since 2009, will succeed Christoph Gunter, who is leaving the group to pursue a new leadership role outside SAF-HOLLAND.
Christoph Gunter, who served as President EMEA for nearly seven years, was a key member of the executive team overseeing the company’s largest regional business. His tenure included the successful integration of Haldex in the EMEA region and the development of growth opportunities in strategically important markets. Alexander Geis, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of SAF-HOLLAND SE, expressed gratitude for Gunter’s contributions, stating, “Christoph Gunter has successfully led and further developed the EMEA region in recent years. On behalf of the entire management team, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to him for his trust and cooperation.”
Alexandre Charpiot brings extensive experience to his new role. Since joining SAF-HOLLAND in 2009, he has held various leadership positions in original equipment (OE) and aftermarket businesses, overseeing areas such as logistics, purchasing, and product management. Since 2022, as Vice President Sales OEM EMEA, he led sales activities in the OE business, managed European subsidiaries, and played a key role in integrating acquisitions including Haldex, Tecma, and Assali Stefen. His strong sales expertise and long-standing relationships with international customers position him well to continue the region’s development.
In his new capacity, Charpiot will align the EMEA region with the strategic goals of the drive2030 strategy, focusing on strengthening market position, optimizing operational performance, and pursuing additional growth opportunities across the product portfolio. The appointment comes as SAF-HOLLAND, which generated sales of approximately EUR 1.73 billion in 2025 with around 5,600 employees, continues to execute its long-term vision.
The leadership change underscores SAF-HOLLAND’s commitment to maintaining its competitive edge in the commercial vehicle components industry. With Charpiot’s proven track record in integrating acquired companies and driving sales, the company aims to further solidify its presence in the EMEA region, which remains critical to its global operations.
