A Marion County jury in Ocala returned a verdict of $1.78 million in favor of a client of Bagen Law Accident Injury Lawyers who suffered neck, back, and head injuries after a collision with a semi truck. The accident occurred as she was turning left from South Pine Avenue onto SW 17th Street in Ocala.
The client, a 32-year-old nurse, was fortunate not to miss significant time from work after the crash. Still, she faced mounting out-of-pocket expenses, including vehicle repairs and medical bills. The trucking company disputed liability from the outset, arguing the client was at fault for turning left, despite the fact that she had a green arrow at the time of the collision.
With the trucking company denying responsibility, it initially offered no settlement at all. As the trial approached, it offered $100,000, an amount the client rejected. The case proceeded to trial, where the jury sided decisively with the client, awarding her $1.78 million.
