Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. (CSE:GCC) (OTC:GCCFF) announced Tuesday that it has completed five diamond drill holes targeting high-priority structural features adjacent to the established Halo zone on its Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property in central British Columbia. The company is integrating the new data into its upcoming maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), which now includes up to 9 historical drill holes alongside 30 of the company’s surface diamond drill holes.
Drill holes QGQ26-30 through QGQ26-34 have been completed, with core logging and sampling in progress at MSALabs of Prince George. Notably, hole QGQ26-30, which tests the western contact of the Halo zone, will be included in the MRE. President and CEO Frank Callaghan said the addition enhances the scale and confidence of the geological model. “Property wide data validation allowed us to expand the MRE dataset to thirty of our surface diamond drill holes alongside historical data, while our latest drilling campaign successfully stepped out to test structural contacts and the corridor toward the Main zone,” he stated.
The company’s Quesnelle Gold Quartz Mine property spans 94,899 hectares along a favorable corridor adjacent to the Spanish and Eureka thrust faults. The property is bordered by Osisko Development and located 4 kilometers northeast of Hixon, British Columbia. Historical production from the area includes over 101 placer gold creeks, and the property includes the Quesnelle Quartz gold-silver deposit discovered in 1865.
Golden Cariboo’s geological setting shows similarities to the Spanish Mountain gold deposit, a sediment-hosted vein deposit considered part of the epizonal orogenic subclass that includes major deposits like Muruntau in Uzbekistan and Bendigo in Australia. The company’s year-round drilling program aims to define the true footprint of the mineralized system while maintaining cost-effective operations.
