MAX Power Mining Expands Saskatchewan Natural Hydrogen Permit Holdings to Approximately 2 Million Acres

MAX Power Mining Corp. (CSE: MAXX; OTC: MAXXF; FRANKFURT: 89N) announced it has acquired additional provincial permits covering 660,263 acres (2,672 square kilometers) in south-central Saskatchewan, increasing its total permitted holdings by more than 50% to approximately 2 million acres across 12 projects. The expansion underscores the company’s aggressive strategy to dominate the emerging natural hydrogen exploration space in Canada.

The newly acquired permits include the 628-square-kilometer Aurora Project adjoining the existing Lawson project, creating a contiguous 90-kilometer corridor with potential for multiple natural hydrogen discoveries and commercialization pathways. This corridor is strategically located near highway, rail, heavy industry, and emerging artificial intelligence infrastructure, facilitating potential development and off-take opportunities. Other additions include the Ogema and Kyle projects, an expansion of the Grasslands Project through the Fox Valley target area, and additional permits at Lawson, Radville, and Tribune.

MAX Power continues commercial-validation drilling at Lawson Complex #1, Canada’s first confirmed subsurface natural hydrogen system. The company and independent consultant GLJ Ltd. are completing reviews of data from the newly permitted areas to prioritize exploration targets. The expansion strengthens MAX Power’s position as a leader in natural hydrogen exploration in Saskatchewan, a province increasingly recognized for its geological potential for natural hydrogen accumulations.

Natural hydrogen, also known as white or gold hydrogen, is generated through natural geological processes and offers a low-carbon energy source. The discovery of subsurface natural hydrogen systems could provide a domestic, clean energy supply, reducing reliance on imported fuels and supporting decarbonization goals. MAX Power’s extensive land position positions it to potentially become a key player in this nascent industry.

“The expansion of our permit holdings to approximately 2 million acres solidifies our leadership in Saskatchewan’s natural hydrogen sector,” said a company spokesperson. “We are excited about the potential of the Aurora corridor and other new projects to host multiple natural hydrogen systems.”

The company also holds a portfolio of critical mineral properties in the United States and Canada, highlighted by a 2024 diamond drilling discovery at the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in Arizona, 100%-owned by its U.S. subsidiary. MAX Power is committed to responsible exploration and development practices that prioritize environmental stewardship and community engagement.
