Phoenix audiences will have the opportunity to see two iconic performers share the stage when Martha Wash and Marsha Warfield bring their live show, It’s Raining Queens™, to Stage West at the Herberger Theater Center on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 7 p.m. The event promises a 90-minute experience that combines powerhouse vocals, stand-up comedy, and candid storytelling, offering an evening that goes beyond a typical concert or comedy show.
It’s Raining Queens™ features two-time Grammy nominee Martha Wash, whose voice has been behind some of the most enduring dance and pop anthems. As one half of The Weather Girls, Wash helped create the global hit “It’s Raining Men.” She also provided the lead vocals for multi-platinum recordings by Black Box and C&C Music Factory, including “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now),” “Everybody Everybody,” and “Strike It Up.” Her career includes 15 No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart, five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and the National Blues Museum’s Lifetime Achievement Award, which she received in 2025.
Joining Wash is acclaimed comedian, actress, and writer Marsha Warfield, known for her fearless wit and commanding presence. Warfield first gained national attention on NBC’s The Richard Pryor Show and later became a household name as Roz Russell on Night Court. She also starred on Empty Nest and hosted her own daytime talk show, The Marsha Warfield Show. Her recent work includes roles on Netflix’s The Upshaws and ABC’s 9-1-1. Warfield won the 1979 San Francisco International Comedy Competition and has been nominated for NAACP Image Awards and Soul Train Awards.
Together, Wash and Warfield will move between legendary music, unapologetic comedy, and revealing personal stories, creating a unique event that is “nostalgic without being trapped in the past, honest without losing its joy, and funny without sacrificing heart.” The show is a celebration of longevity, friendship, and resilience, showcasing two women who have built careers on talent and authenticity.
“Whether audiences come to hear the iconic hits, experience Warfield’s uncompromising comedy, or discover the stories behind their remarkable careers, It’s Raining Queens™ offers something that cannot be streamed, replayed, or duplicated: the electricity of two entertainment legends sharing one stage in real time,” the press release states.
The performance will take place at Stage West in the Herberger Theater Center, located at 222 East Monroe Street in Phoenix.
