Nocera, Inc. (NASDAQ: NCRA) announced it has acquired a 30% controlling interest in Taiwan-based QMAX Technology Co. Ltd., a move aimed at strengthening its position in the artificial intelligence infrastructure market. The acquisition, structured through a variable interest entity, involved issuing 300,000 restricted shares valued at approximately $408,000.
QMAX is an authorized distribution channel for Micron/Crucial memory products, providing Nocera with established vendor authorizations, procurement capabilities, and distribution relationships for DRAM modules, server memory, and solid-state storage. The acquisition supports Nocera’s transformation into Nocera Holdings, a diversified technology-focused holding company targeting opportunities across AI, AI infrastructure, data centers, robotics, biotech, blockchain, and digital assets.
Management stated that the acquisition strengthens Nocera’s AI data center strategy by securing access to critical memory and storage components amid tightening global supply driven by AI demand. QMAX generated approximately $1.36 million in fiscal 2025 revenue and provides an operating procurement and distribution platform serving customers across Taiwan’s technology sector.
Nocera intends to leverage the business to support both its own planned AI data centers and third-party customers while continuing to pursue additional acquisitions and strategic partnerships aligned with its long-term AI infrastructure strategy. The company’s focus on high-growth sectors reflects a broader industry trend where access to memory and storage components becomes increasingly crucial as AI applications proliferate.
The global AI chip shortage and rising demand for data center infrastructure have made memory components a strategic asset. By integrating a distributor like QMAX, Nocera gains a direct pipeline to essential hardware, potentially reducing supply chain risks and costs. This vertical integration could provide a competitive edge as the company builds out its AI data center footprint.
