Dr. Lee Newcomer, Author of ‘UNMASKED,’ Signs With Creative Management Partners for Book Promotion

Dr. Lee Newcomer, author of the forthcoming book “UNMASKED: What I learned About Love, Failure and Reform From Both Sides of the Hospital Bed,” has signed with Creative Management Partners (CMP) agent Alan Morell to represent him for speaking engagements, media interviews, and other opportunities. The announcement, made on July 30, 2026, marks a significant step in bringing Newcomer’s unique perspective on health care to a broader audience.

Newcomer, a nationally recognized health care policy expert and physician, served as the first chief medical officer of UnitedHealthcare, a Fortune 50 company. His career spans clinical medicine, health care delivery, insurance, and innovative payment models. As a medical oncologist with direct patient care experience, he has led a large hospital and physician group and served on boards for precision medicine companies in genomics and pharmaceuticals. His book draws on his experiences on both sides of the hospital bed—as a doctor and as a patient.

Agent Alan Morell, who has over 40 years of experience managing more than 3,700 campaigns, described “UNMASKED” as a “MUST READ for every household,” noting that it exposes both medical proficiency and flaws in practice standards. Morell will work with Newcomer and his senior advisor, Jennifer S. Wilkov of Your Book Is Your Hook, to secure satellite media book tours, speaking engagements, and media interviews.

Wilkov, a multi #1 international best-selling author and founder of Your Book Is Your Hook, said, “Dr. Lee Newcomer brings an extraordinary perspective to ‘UNMASKED’—one shaped by his experiences on both sides of the hospital bed, as both a physician and a patient, as well as by his decades at the forefront of health care as an executive and nationally recognized health care policy expert.” She believes the book has the potential to spark meaningful conversations about improving health care for everyone.

Newcomer expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “I’m looking forward to working together with Alan and Jennifer to bring this book to the public.” He emphasized that “UNMASKED” offers readers insights into the miracles and accomplishments of medicine, as well as its shortcomings, through the eyes of a doctor who has also been a patient.

The partnership highlights the growing interest in health care reform and patient-centered care. Newcomer’s expertise is documented in various publications, including Health Affairs, where he has contributed to discussions on health policy. His insights on precision oncology and prior authorization have also been featured in The American Journal of Managed Care and on Apple Podcasts.

With CMP’s representation, Newcomer is poised to reach a wide audience and influence the ongoing dialogue about health care costs, quality, and reform. The book’s release is anticipated to contribute significantly to public understanding of the complexities within the U.S. health care system.
