Verizon is kicking off the 2026 NFL season with a major promotional offer: YouTube’s NFL Sunday Ticket, on us, for customers who purchase eligible 5G phones and activate or switch to qualifying Unlimited plans, or switch to select home internet services, including Fios Home Internet and premium Verizon Home Internet options. The offer, available through September 2, saves customers up to $480, according to the company’s press release.
To qualify, customers can purchase an eligible 5G phone and activate a new smartphone line on an Unlimited Ultimate or Unlimited Plus plan, or switch an existing line to one of those plans after buying an eligible phone. Alternatively, switching home internet to Verizon’s 100% fiber-optic Fios Home Internet or select premium options like 5G Home Ultimate or Verizon Home Internet Lite Extra also qualifies. Customers can also switch to a premium Frontier Fiber tier (1G, 2G, 5G, or 7G) to get the offer. For existing Verizon Home Internet customers and new and existing Simplicity customers, a standalone subscription to NFL Sunday Ticket is available for $234, or the NFL Sunday Ticket + NFL RedZone bundle for $276.
Beyond the savings, Verizon is launching Verizon Shine, part of its new Verizon Loyalty Program, which offers customers weekly chances to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Starting the week of August 3, customers can enter to win an all-expenses-paid 5-day trip to see the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New Orleans Saints in the first NFL game in Paris. Customers can check the My Verizon app for daily surprises and football fan giveaways throughout the year.
The Verizon Loyalty Program, which includes Verizon Shine, also eliminates activation and upgrade fees and offers Verizon Dollars, allowing customers to earn 3% cash back each month. This program is designed to reward customers every day, as stated in the press release.
This announcement underscores Verizon’s strategy to bundle premium NFL content with its wireless and home internet services, aiming to attract and retain customers amid intense competition in the telecommunications industry. By offering NFL Sunday Ticket for free with select plans, Verizon is leveraging the popularity of NFL games to drive subscriptions for its higher-tier Unlimited plans and home internet services. The introduction of the Verizon Shine loyalty program also seeks to create deeper engagement with customers by offering exclusive experiences, such as the Paris NFL game trip, which could generate buzz and customer loyalty.
For fans, this means significant savings on out-of-market Sunday afternoon regular season games, which are typically costly add-ons. The offer is available now through September 2, and customers can sign up via Verizon’s website at verizon.com/nfl-sunday-ticket-on-youtube-streaming/ or by visiting a Verizon store. The My Verizon app also provides access to Verizon Shine for daily surprises and experiences.
