The Atlanta Community Food Bank, a central hub in the fight against hunger in metro Atlanta and north Georgia, has announced the appointment of new members to its Governing and Advisory Boards. These appointments, effective July 1, 2026, come at a critical time when over 900,000 people in the region are projected to be food insecure.
Kyle Waide, President & CEO of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, expressed gratitude for the new board members, stating, “We are honored to welcome our new Board members, who bring their professional expertise and dedication to our community, to the Food Bank.” He emphasized the importance of their guidance as the organization works to make food assistance more convenient, consistent, frequent, and equitable.
The Food Bank has added four new members to its Governing Board for Fiscal Year 2027, each serving three-year terms. Danielle Fallin, Dean of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, brings expertise in public health. Marshall Guest, Chief Strategy Officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber, contributes strategic insight. Noel Baber, VP & CFO of Kaiser Permanente Georgia, adds financial acumen. Vonetta Daniels, Founder & Principal of VYD and Associates, offers entrepreneurial and consulting experience.
In addition, Christine Connor, Managing Partner and Founder at Switch Consulting Group, has been elected as the Advisory Board Vice Chair. Two new Advisory Board members have also joined: Jay Ritchie, President & CEO of Tokio Marine HCC, and Kevin Autie, Senior Manager at Gas South.
These appointments reflect the Food Bank’s commitment to leveraging diverse professional expertise to enhance its mission. The new board members will collaborate with the organization to amplify its impact as a critical part of the food ecosystem. Their leadership is expected to help the Food Bank address the challenges of food insecurity more effectively, ensuring that vital resources reach neighbors in need.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank works with more than 700 community-based, nonprofit partners across 29 counties to provide healthy food to families, children, and seniors. In 2023, the organization distributed its one billionth meal, underscoring its significant role in the region. The addition of these experienced leaders is poised to further the Food Bank’s goal of ensuring that all hungry people in metro Atlanta and north Georgia have access to nutritious meals.
