LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) has expanded its footprint in Quebec’s prolific Abitibi Greenstone Belt with the acquisition of 27 mineral claims covering approximately 701 hectares adjacent to its McKenzie East Project. This move increases the company’s total land position in the region to more than 23,100 hectares across 490 claims, according to a recent article highlighting the company’s efforts.
The newly acquired claims include ground containing a historical Maruska gold showing, which LaFleur plans to explore through data compilation, drilling, and other exploration activities. This expansion aligns with the company’s broader district-scale strategy in a region known for its strong infrastructure and access to mining resources.
In parallel, LaFleur is refurbishing its 100%-owned Beacon Gold Mill and expects to restart operations in the coming months. The mill, capable of processing over 750 tonnes per day, will initially process existing stockpiles and potentially material from its Swanson Gold Project. The company believes the combination of expanded land holdings, exploration opportunities, and planned mill operations supports its long-term value creation goals.
The Swanson Gold Project, which is approximately 19,214 hectares in size, includes several prospects rich in gold and critical metals previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining. LaFleur has consolidated a large land package along a major structural break that hosts the Swanson, Bartec, and Jolin gold deposits. The project is easily accessible by road, providing direct access to several nearby gold mills, enhancing its development potential.
LaFleur recently released the results of a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Swanson Gold Project, which, combined with the planned mill restart, positions the company for potential production. The Beacon Gold Mill is also being considered for custom milling operations for other nearby gold projects, potentially generating additional revenue streams.
This expansion and operational progress underscore LaFleur’s commitment to advancing its district-scale gold projects in the Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d’Or, Quebec. The company’s mission is to advance mining projects with a laser focus on its PEA-stage Swanson Gold Project and the Beacon Gold Mill, which have significant potential to deliver long-term value.
Investors and industry observers are watching LaFleur’s developments closely, as the company continues to consolidate its position in one of the world’s most prolific gold-producing regions. The combination of a growing land package, a restarting mill, and a positive PEA could position LaFleur as a notable player in the Canadian gold sector.
