The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will open five major fairs from August 13 to 17 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, featuring more than 1,850 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions. Under the theme “Live Well.Stay Well,” the events aim to tap into the growing global demand for wellness, quality living, and holistic wellbeing, offering a one-stop platform for sourcing, networking, and retail experiences.
This year marks a significant expansion in international participation. For the first time, exhibitors from all ASEAN member states will be present, including debut participants from Brunei and Timor-Leste. New exhibitors from Colombia and Greece also join, while the Korean Pavilion has grown by 40% to become the largest overseas pavilion, hosting over 130 exhibitors. The Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China has organized delegations from multiple provinces, using Hong Kong as a gateway to expand overseas.
The trade-focused Food Expo PRO introduces a new “Meat Zone” to cater to the rising demand for premium meat products. Highlights include Korean exhibitors offering frozen marinated barbecue that can be served in three minutes, and a local Hong Kong brand entering the B2B market with halal-certified beef tendon balls. The “Coffee Zone” also expands with new exhibitors from Colombia, Macao, Myanmar, Thailand, and the United States, while a “Food Science and Technology Zone” showcases innovations like an intelligent food-service robot. For the first time, the expo features pet food products, using patented packaging to preserve nutrition without cold-chain logistics.
The Hong Kong International Tea Fair returns fully open to the public, featuring rare teas such as first-flush Kunlu Mountain purple bud pu’er from Yunnan and white tea from Laos. New pavilions include the Chinese Mainland Matcha Pavilion and the Yixing Zisha Teaware Pavilion. A new “TeaLifestyle” zone introduces innovative products like sparkling tea and tea-based cocktails, demonstrating how tea culture integrates into modern living. The Hong Kong International Tea Culture Forum will explore internationalization of Chinese tea brands.
The Beauty & Wellness Expo debuts a “Stay Relax” zone with red-light therapy capsules and medicated balms, while the popular “Scentsation” zone returns with an interactive fragrance experience. The Home Delights Expo focuses on quality sleep and smart living, with the Sleep Health Association launching “Go Sleep Exp” and HKT offering discounts on smart home appliances, including its award-winning F5G-A 2500M Super Broadband service.
The International Conference on the Modernization of Chinese Medicine and Health Products (ICMCM), expanded to three days, will feature over 30 speakers from various countries, discussing regulatory policies and global pathways. A public education display on Chinese medicine will be set up at the Food Expo, along with an ICMCM Public Forum.
To celebrate HKTDC’s 60th anniversary, special promotions include free admission before noon for those with promotional leaflets (limited to 600 per day), “6”-themed offers, and lucky draws with prizes worth over HK$1 million. The “Smart Bidding” session allows visitors to bid on products starting at 10% of the original price. E-tickets are available through various platforms, and morning/evening admission tickets return for budget-conscious visitors.
The fairs reflect Hong Kong’s role as an international food trading hub and its ability to connect global businesses with the Chinese Mainland and other markets. With a strong emphasis on wellness and lifestyle trends, the events are poised to drive innovation and business opportunities in the region.
