Keyrenter Property Management Hits 100 Locations, Adds VP of Onboarding

Keyrenter Property Management, a residential real estate franchisor, has reached a major milestone this summer by surpassing 100 franchise locations. The company, which began franchising in 2014, has awarded 14 new territories since the start of 2026, with five more candidates preparing for Discovery Day sessions as early as next week. The new locations span Colorado, California, Texas, Florida, Virginia, Illinois, North Carolina, Michigan, and New Mexico.

This expansion marks a significant achievement for the brand, which now operates 101 locations across the United States. To manage the influx of new franchisees, Keyrenter has appointed Eric Steward, a franchise industry veteran, as Vice-President of Onboarding. Steward brings over a dozen years of experience in franchise recruiting, having previously served as senior director of franchise recruiting at Pillar to Post.

“On behalf of the brand and all of our valued stakeholders, we’re pleased to announce the awarding of these 14 new territories,” said Nate Tew, co-founder and CEO of Keyrenter Property Management. “Not only does this greatly expand our brand’s footprint, but we’ve also surpassed a significant milestone of establishing more than 100 franchise locations coast-to-coast. We’re also honored to have Eric Steward join us here at Keyrenter Property Management, who will be overseeing all activities from signed franchise agreements through the rest of the onboarding process for our growing network of franchisee partners.”

Steward’s role will be crucial as the company integrates new franchisees. His background in residential real estate and franchising makes him well-suited for the position. “Joining the team of an industry leading brand like Keyrenter is a dream come true opportunity,” Steward said. “The fact that they also operate in the residential real estate space where I have direct category experience is a plus and I hope to make several meaningful contributions in my new role as the head of onboarding activities. With the recent awarding of over a dozen new locations, I have my work cut out for me, but I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and get started.”

The growth comes amid favorable conditions in the residential real estate market. There are approximately 25 million single-family rental (SFR) units in the U.S., with only 4% institutionally owned. High mortgage rates and a tight lending environment are pushing more people to rent, increasing demand for property management services. Keyrenter franchisees provide essential services like rent collection, maintenance, and tenant placement, making them integral to the rental ecosystem.

Founded in 2007 in Midvale, Utah, Keyrenter has grown from a single location to a network of 94 franchisee partners. The company’s business model focuses on recurring monthly revenue and offers generous territorial boundaries, making it an attractive opportunity for entrepreneurs. The recent expansion highlights the brand’s momentum and its ability to attract qualified candidates in a thriving market.
