Monkee’s of Fair Oaks Ranch to Open with a Focus on Personalized Service and Private Events

When Monkee’s of Fair Oaks Ranch opens its doors on August 20, owner Kelli Hull will make a promise that has nothing to do with the brands on the racks: that no one will ever leave her store in something that doesn’t look phenomenal on them. That promise is set to become the boutique’s signature, representing a deliberate bet that in an era of self-checkout and shrinking customer service, women are looking for an experience, not just a transaction.

“People are a little bit frustrated with a lack of customer service, not only in retail but in industries at large,” Hull said. “We want every single person who comes in to feel a very elevated, experiential shopping experience.”

The roughly 1,200-square-foot boutique is being built around the idea that shopping should feel less like an errand and more like an afternoon with friends. Customers will be greeted with a seat, perhaps a glass of wine, and the opportunity to chat. “Having a glass of wine, sitting on the couch talking to your girlfriends about your events and what’s going on in your life and your family; that’s going to be something that everyone experiences,” Hull said.

From there, the service gets personal. Hull and her team will offer wardrobe guidance from head to toe, with a focus on honest, encouraging feedback. “A lot of women just need someone to say, ‘You’re beautiful, that looks good on you, but I think we can do even better,’” Hull said. “I think we can make you feel amazing and have that come through in your personality when you walk into an event. When you look good, you feel good, and that projects out.”

Beyond everyday shopping, the boutique will host private events after hours, dedicated to one customer and her circle. “Those happen after hours, after we close to the public,” Hull said. “It’s myself and some of my team, and we are just dedicated to you and your friends, bringing you a great experience.” The format lends itself to birthdays, girls’ nights, bridal parties, and seasonal gatherings, with demand expected to build quickly once the doors open.

In a twist most retailers don’t offer, Monkee’s of Fair Oaks Ranch will be closed to the public on Sundays but open by private appointment. This is a nod to the busy, often-traveling customers Hull knows well from her own years on the road. “If you’re a busy traveling mom like I used to be, you can call the store and say, ‘I want to come in Sunday afternoon at two o’clock,’” Hull said. “We’ll meet you there, and it’s just you in the store telling us what you need. If you tell us in advance what you’re looking for, we’ll go ahead and pull some styles for you and wardrobe you from head to toe and get you on your way.”

For Hull, the emphasis on service is personal. A self-described lifelong fashionista, she has navigated her own seasons of not knowing what to wear, including after having children. “That season after we have children is very difficult for women. I used to dread going to events simply because I didn’t know what to wear and nothing was fitting properly,” Hull said. “A lot of women feel that way, and they just need someone to bounce ideas off of.” It is why, she says, the boutique’s defining feature isn’t a label at all: it’s a vow. “It is my solemn vow that I will never let anyone leave Monkee’s of Fair Oaks Ranch in something that doesn’t look phenomenal on them,” Hull said. “I promise.”

Monkee’s of Fair Oaks Ranch opens August 20, 2026, in the Lemon Creek Ranch development near Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne. Once open, customers can call the store to book a private event or a Sunday styling appointment, and can follow along on Instagram for opening updates, with additional updates on Facebook and TikTok. The store’s website, monkeesoffairoaks.com, is live with store information, with online shopping planned to launch in 2027.
