LION E-Mobility AG, a manufacturer of battery packs for electric mobility and energy storage, published its preliminary consolidated H1 2026 figures on August 12, 2026. The company reported revenue of EUR 6.9 million for the first half of the year, down from EUR 10.4 million in the same period last year, primarily due to a planned two-month factory shutdown during Q2 for conversion to its new high-performance NMC+ battery-pack technology. EBITDA for the period was EUR 0.1 million, compared with EUR 1.3 million in H1 2025.
The temporary shutdown, which began in Q2, was part of the company’s strategic transition to the NMC+ battery packs, designed for demanding applications in e-mobility, industrial, and safety-critical segments. Production resumed at the end of June as planned, marking a significant operational milestone. Despite the H1 dip, LION confirmed its outlook for the full year 2026, expecting revenue to exceed EUR 35 million and strongly positive EBITDA. The company anticipates that a substantial share of revenue will be generated in the second half, with Q4 being the strongest quarter, as it ramps up production of the new battery packs and capitalizes on a growing order pipeline.
In the stationary energy storage segment, LION reported progress on its Finsterwalde BESS project, developed in cooperation with Renoc GmbH. The first construction phase has been completed, providing 5 MW of installed capacity and 20 MWh of storage. The facility uses LION Smart BESS containers designed for grid-connected applications. The second phase, planned for early 2027, will expand capacity to 40 MWh with 15 MW of installed power. The Finsterwalde project serves as a reference and showcase for future customers and investors, as LION positions itself as a systems supplier for grid-scale storage solutions across Germany and Europe.
The BESS project pipeline is growing, and LION is strengthening its team to accelerate expansion in this area.
