SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Kyle Brown, founding attorney and partner at Brown & Hobkirk, PLLC, joined his wife Cheree at ALS Arizona’s annual Bite Nite gala, held at the Chateau Luxe in Phoenix. The event, which brings together top local chefs, supporters, and volunteers, raises funds and awareness for the nonprofit’s work supporting Arizona families affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Brown’s participation carries personal weight. “We recently lost a friend to ALS, and that loss has stayed with us,” he said. “As a law firm, we are looking for ways to support ALS Arizona’s mission and help families who are facing this disease with courage and strength.” The gala featured gourmet bites and live music, with attendees encouraged to contribute to the organization’s services, which include care support, education, equipment assistance, and community programs.
ALS, a progressive neurodegenerative disease, affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 34,000 adults in the U.S. currently live with the disease. ALS Arizona addresses this need through direct services and events like Bite Nite.
Beyond the gala, Brown is helping organize The Alpine Classic Golf Tournament on December 13, 2026, at Eagle Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, with proceeds benefiting ALS Arizona. His involvement has deepened the firm’s relationship with the organization. Brown & Hobkirk attorneys have been assisting families facing ALS with estate planning, and in May, Brown presented on estate planning as part of ALS Arizona’s “ALS 101” educational series for newly diagnosed individuals and their families.
“Lawyers have a responsibility to support the communities they serve,” Brown said, “and organizations like ALS Arizona give us a direct way to make a difference.”
Brown, who has more than 25 years of experience, focuses his practice on personal injury, wrongful death, estate planning, probate, and related matters. His firm, Brown & Hobkirk, PLLC, is a full-service law firm serving clients in Scottsdale, Phoenix, and throughout Arizona, offering services in estate planning, family law, real estate, business law, and civil litigation.
The firm’s engagement with ALS Arizona underscores a broader trend of legal professionals contributing to health-related causes, providing both financial support and specialized expertise to families navigating complex diagnoses.
