FWD Group Holdings Limited (“FWD Group” or “FWD”) marked its 13th anniversary by announcing a series of charitable grants dedicated to supporting more than 13,000 people in communities across Asia. The initiative underscores the company’s commitment to giving back to the regions where it operates, aligning with its mission to change the way people feel about insurance.
Since its establishment in 2013, FWD Group has grown from its early operations in Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Thailand into a pan-Asian life and health insurer serving millions of customers across 10 markets. In July 2025, the company reached a significant milestone with its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the stock code 1828. This anniversary marks another step in its journey, with the grants reflecting a broader vision of social responsibility.
Huynh Thanh Phong, Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of FWD Group, emphasized the importance of community support: “At FWD Group, changing the way people feel about insurance is about much more than looking after our customers – it’s also about supporting the communities where we operate. These 13 grants are a meaningful way to give back to the people and places that have been part of our journey. Together with trusted community partners, we hope to make a real difference in people’s lives, while also bringing our caring value to life through employee volunteering.”
The 13 grants will fund initiatives across the region, focusing on financial literacy, career readiness, entrepreneurship, health and wellbeing, and community recovery. In Hong Kong SAR, the grants will extend the JA SparktheDream Wellness Programme with Junior Achievement Hong Kong, benefiting 2,600 primary school students with social, emotional, and financial skills. Additionally, programs with Save the Children Hong Kong and Plan International Hong Kong will support children and families affected by the Tai Po fire, including psychosocial support and community-building activities for over 6,500 students, parents, and teachers.
In Cambodia, JCI Mekong will equip 200 young people with practical money management skills through financial education workshops. In Indonesia, KUMPUL will empower 10 female entrepreneurs through the InnovateHer Academy 4.0, providing mentorship and business training. Japan’s Hands On Tokyo will promote inclusion and wellbeing through football clinics for over 15 visually impaired individuals. In Malaysia, GivingHub will receive support to provide health education and financial literacy workshops for 170 low-income families, along with 100 cancer screening sessions.
The Philippines will see Junior Achievement Philippines help 100 university students transition into the workforce with financial literacy and career readiness skills. In Singapore, Club Rainbow (Singapore) will organize a carnival for 50 children with chronic illnesses and their caregivers to foster community spirit. Thailand will benefit from two initiatives: the Pimali Foundation will offer hospitality training scholarships to seven disadvantaged youth, and Junior Achievement Thailand will train 30 educators to deliver financial literacy education.
Vietnam will receive support for 800 students through financial literacy workshops and debate competitions by Startup Vietnam Foundation and Dear Our Community. Additionally, Little Roses Foundation will provide 76 computers to schools in Khanh Hoa Province, enabling 1,800 students to continue learning after severe flooding damaged their facilities.
These grants demonstrate FWD Group’s ongoing dedication to creating positive social impact, leveraging partnerships to address local needs and build resilient communities. As the company continues to expand its footprint, these efforts highlight its role as a responsible corporate citizen in Asia.
