Wrap Technologies (NASDAQ: WRAP), a global leader in non-lethal public safety technologies, has been selected by WOFT Charities to provide training support for the WOFT Teacher Safety Training Program. The program, which received a $475,000 appropriation in Florida’s fiscal year 2026-27 state budget, aims to equip educators with practical safety skills.
The training will focus on situational awareness, threat recognition, early intervention, de-escalation, and avoiding physical confrontation when possible. It will provide teachers, administrators, and other school personnel with real-world scenarios and practical self-defense instruction. The $475,000 appropriation was made to WOFT, with WRAP receiving a portion based on services provided. The company emphasized that this should not be interpreted as a direct $475,000 award or future revenue.
WRAP also has exclusive access to WOFT’s training facility, which is being developed as a national flagship environment for integrated WRAP training. The company believes this model could expand beyond education into law enforcement, private security, military, and other professional safety environments, as well as private citizens. Eventually, it could incorporate a digital training ecosystem supporting continuous learning, recurring proficiency, and certification.
This selection underscores the growing importance of non-lethal tools and training in school safety, a pressing concern in the wake of numerous school incidents. By integrating WRAP’s technologies and training, the program aims to provide teachers with additional tools to manage potentially dangerous situations without resorting to lethal force.
WRAP’s portfolio includes the BolaWrap 150, a non-lethal restraint device that deploys a multi-sensory distraction to create time and distance in confrontational situations. It does not shoot, strike, shock, or incapacitate, but rather helps officers and now educators manage non-compliant individuals before escalation. The device is used by over 1,000 agencies across the U.S. and in 60 countries, with training certified by the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST).
The company also offers WrapReality, an immersive VR training simulator for decision-making under stress, and WrapVision, a body-worn camera and evidence management system. These technologies could be integrated into the teacher training program, providing a comprehensive approach to school safety.
While the financial impact on WRAP is not yet clear, the partnership signals a potential expansion of the company’s market into the education sector. The exclusive access to the training facility could also position WRAP as a key player in the development of standard training protocols for school safety.
