The presentation comes as MAX Power advances a multi-well commercial validation program at the Lawson Complex, designed to define the system’s scale, continuity, reservoir characteristics, and commercial potential. The first well in this program, Lawson 2, encountered approximately 860 meters of continuous elevated Natural Hydrogen readings, including the highest readings recorded to date at the site. These findings also provided evidence of an enhanced fracture system within the Precambrian basement complex, suggesting significant reservoir potential.
Drilling has since progressed to Lawson 3, which is positioned to provide a third data point as the company works to better understand the deposit’s potential volume. This systematic approach is critical for assessing whether the Lawson Complex can deliver commercial-scale Natural Hydrogen, a clean energy source that could play a transformative role in the global energy transition.
The significance of this discovery extends beyond the immediate project. Natural Hydrogen, also known as white or gold hydrogen, is generated naturally in the Earth’s subsurface and offers a carbon-free energy alternative. If commercialized, it could provide a new primary energy source that reduces reliance on fossil fuels and supports decarbonization goals. MAX Power’s efforts at Lawson are being closely watched by industry experts, as they could pave the way for similar exploration worldwide.
MAX Power has built a dominant district-scale land position across Saskatchewan, with approximately 1.3 million acres (521,000 hectares) of permits covering prime exploration ground prospective for large-volume accumulations of Natural Hydrogen. This strategic footprint positions the company to capitalize on the growing interest in natural hydrogen as a viable energy solution.
In addition to its hydrogen projects, MAX Power holds a portfolio of properties in the United States and Canada focused on critical minerals, highlighted by a 2024 diamond drilling discovery at the Willcox Playa Lithium Project in southeast Arizona.
