Heliostar Metals Ltd (TSXV: HSTR) reported a record second quarter, with gold production surging 26% quarter-over-quarter to 14,803 ounces, according to an update from Stonegate Capital Partners. The company’s revenue reached $56.5 million, mine operating earnings hit $31.1 million, and cash increased to $43.0 million despite a $10 million initial payment for the Goldstrike project. This robust operational performance strengthens the company’s financial footing as it advances its flagship Ana Paula project toward development.
The quarterly results underscore Heliostar’s ability to generate cash from its producing assets, which is critical to funding the company’s growth pipeline. San Agustin mine has reached steady-state production, while the low-cost La Colorada mine continues to provide strong cash generation. These operations are expected to bridge the financing gap to Ana Paula, a high-grade gold project that represents the company’s principal step-change growth opportunity. The improved cash position and operating earnings provide greater visibility for investors as the company moves toward key milestones.
Despite the positive operational metrics, Heliostar’s net income declined on a quarter-over-quarter basis. Stonegate attributes this decline to non-operational factors, including the annual option grant, higher taxes, and foreign exchange effects, rather than any weakness in mine performance. This clarification helps investors understand the underlying strength of the company’s operations.
Ana Paula remains the centerpiece of Heliostar’s growth strategy. The company is targeting completion of a Feasibility Study (FS) in the second quarter of 2027, with submission of an underground permit application expected in the third quarter of this year. First gold production from Ana Paula is targeted before the end of 2028. The project’s Expansion Zone offers additional upside beyond the current development case, with the potential to enhance the project’s economics. Key execution variables for Ana Paula include permitting and project financing, which will be critical to advancing the project on schedule.
In addition to Ana Paula, Heliostar is advancing the Goldstrike project, which it acquired earlier this year. Goldstrike adds approximately 1.065 million ounces of attributable gold resources and provides emerging antimony optionality. Surface work has confirmed mineralization at Antimony Ridge and identified a new target, Antimony Knoll, located 1.7 kilometers west. An initial drilling program of about 1,500 meters is underway, with results anticipated in the fourth quarter of 2026. Goldstrike broadens Heliostar’s longer-term pipeline, although Stonegate notes that the remaining staged purchase consideration should be reflected consistently in valuation assessments.
