The Michaud Law Group LLC is representing a proposed $1 billion renewable energy park on the historic Remington Woods property in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The project aims to transform the approximately 400-acre site, formerly used for ammunition manufacturing and testing, into a facility combining solar energy generation, battery storage, environmental conservation, and public access.
The property, located along the Bridgeport-Stratford border, was used by Remington Arms for ammunition production and testing from the Civil War through both World Wars. Now, plans call for about 51 acres of solar panels and battery energy storage facilities, alongside a major nature preserve. The conservation component includes a natural science center, outdoor classroom, student viewing platform, and protected natural areas.

United Illuminating has agreed to purchase the electricity generated by the solar portion for 20 years. Revenue from solar and battery storage is expected to support the nature preserve’s long-term operation, with the park’s fund potentially growing to about $50 million over three decades. Solar facilities could be operational by the end of 2027, with battery storage development continuing through the decade.
The project has drawn attention from state officials, including Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, who toured the property with project representatives, as highlighted by News 12 Connecticut. This collaboration underscores the project’s importance to the state’s clean energy goals.
