LawtonCates Attorney Terrence Polich Named to 2027 Best Lawyers in America

MADISON, Wis. — LawtonCates, S.C. announced that attorney Terrence Polich has been recognized by his peers in the 2027 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Polich was honored in the fields of Insurance Law, Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs, and Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions – Plaintiffs.

This recognition is significant because Best Lawyers is one of the oldest and most respected peer-review publications in the legal profession. For more than 40 years, the organization has relied on the principle that “the best lawyers know who the best lawyers are.” Attorneys are nominated and then evaluated by currently recognized lawyers, who provide feedback on their work. Best Lawyers also verifies that nominees are in good standing with their local bar associations before finalizing the results.

Polich, who has over 25 years of legal experience, focuses his practice on personal injury, consumer warranty, lemon law, and civil litigation. His notable case results include a $4.6 million recovery for nonprofit businesses harmed by fraud and professional negligence, a $2.3 million wrongful death settlement for a Marine who died of a drug overdose at a Veterans Affairs hospital, a $1 million wrongful death settlement for a veteran who froze to death after being discharged from a VA hospital, and a $942,333.33 motor vehicle accident settlement for three people injured in a head-on collision.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude both to Best Lawyers and all of my peers who voted for me in these categories,” Polich said. “It’s an honor to be recognized for my work in personal injury law. I became an attorney because I wanted to help people who have been harmed through no fault of their own, and I’m proud to work for one of the most distinguished firms in the state of Wisconsin.”

Polich is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and serves as past Chair of the Wisconsin Association for Justice Program Committee. He is also a board member of the Jason Simcakoski Foundation, which focuses on improving mental health care for veterans. His advocacy for veterans’ issues is particularly notable given his successful results in cases involving veteran deaths at VA facilities.

The recognition of Polich by Best Lawyers is a testament to his skill and dedication in representing plaintiffs in complex litigation. LawtonCates, based in Madison, Wisconsin, has been assisting clients since 1958. The firm primarily focuses on personal injury, including motor vehicle accidents, work-related injuries, and wrongful death, and also has experience in lemon law, criminal defense, consumer law, and business litigation. This honor for one of its attorneys reinforces the firm’s reputation for providing high-quality legal representation to those in need.
