Edgewater Wireless Secures Strategic Investment from Silicon Catalyst Angels to Advance Spectrum Slicing Technology

Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc. (TSXV: YFI) (OTC: KPIFF), a pioneer in AI-powered Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing™ solutions, has closed the second tranche of a private placement that includes a strategic investment from Silicon Catalyst Angels I, LLC (SCA), a semiconductor-focused angel investment group. The investment strengthens Edgewater’s financial position and adds semiconductor industry expertise as the company advances its Spectrum Slicing™ and PrismIQ™ platforms toward prototype validation and commercial engagements.

The private placement raised gross proceeds of $287,979.96 from the issuance of 4,799,666 units, each consisting of one common share and one warrant exercisable at $0.09 for two years. Combined with the first tranche, the company has issued 11,955,545 units for aggregate gross proceeds of $717,332.70. Edgewater Chairman Brian Imrie also participated, investing $96,000, demonstrating insider confidence in the company’s direction.

This investment marks the latest development in Edgewater’s relationship with Silicon Catalyst, which began in November 2024 when Edgewater was selected as a Silicon Catalyst Portfolio Company. The company is now advancing toward prototype validation and partner demonstrations for its PrismIQ™ platform, which aims to improve Wi-Fi performance in congested environments.

Edgewater’s Spectrum Slicing technology is designed to address the growing challenges of Wi-Fi congestion, particularly as the industry transitions to Wi-Fi 7 and beyond, where devices operate on very wide channels in crowded spectrum. The company claims its solution can deliver up to a 10x improvement in performance and 50% lower latency, even for legacy devices. The company plans to release its initial product in the first half of 2027, with the coming period expected to include significant engineering milestones.
