Gateway Summit Málaga 2026 Aims to Bridge Tech Ecosystems Across the Atlantic

The Gateway Summit, set to take place October 1-2 at the Málaga Cruise Terminal, is positioning itself as a pivotal platform for fostering transatlantic business and innovation connections. Following a promotional visit to Miami during eMerge Americas, summit coordinator César Caballero highlighted the event’s mission to go beyond traditional conferences, aiming to generate concrete partnerships between entrepreneurs, investors, corporations, and innovation ecosystems in the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.

Caballero noted that the reception in Miami was “extraordinarily positive,” with significant interest in emerging tech hubs outside conventional markets. The summit is designed to showcase Málaga as a gateway to Europe, leveraging its talent pool, quality of life, and international connectivity. Strategic agreements and commitments from U.S. and Latin American investors and companies are expected to materialize at the October event.

The summit’s unique airport-inspired concept includes formats like the “Pitching Runway,” where 10 startup finalists pitch to investors, and “Takeoff Talks.” The agenda spans key sectors including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, FinTech, HealthTech, SpaceTech, and Smart Cities. A notable initiative brings together around 20 investors for a live masterclass on startup evaluation, demystifying investment decisions. Other hands-on sessions include workshops by Reental on alternative investments and “Tres en Forma” featuring prominent Spanish investors.

Confirmed speakers include executives from Mastercard, Renault, Indra, Quirón, and PLD Space, with Metricool addressing AI applications. Markus Gotthard will discuss drones and energy resilience in global security. Representatives from Cisco, Reental, and Bolt will also participate, with more announcements expected.

The summit targets startups, scaleups, corporations, venture capital funds, angel investors, family offices, and institutions. For international attendees, it offers a concentrated entry point into the Spanish and European markets. Investors can engage in curated deal-making, while corporations can source technologies and founders can connect with potential partners. Advanced matchmaking tools will facilitate pre-arranged meetings, ensuring productive networking.

Caballero emphasized the summit’s focus on actionable outcomes, stating, “The key question at the end of Gateway shouldn’t be ‘Which presentation did you like best?’ but rather ‘Who did you meet, and what deals will follow from that meeting?'” The event promises to deliver a blend of knowledge, practical application, and strategic networking, solidifying its role as a bridge between the Americas and Europe.
