LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) has announced the appointment of Andrew Elinesky as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Elinesky, who brings over two decades of senior executive and financial leadership experience, most recently served as president and CEO of Sabre Gold Mines Corp., which was acquired in February 2025. In his new role, he will oversee corporate strategy, capital markets, financing, and investor relations. Meanwhile, former CEO Paul Ténière will continue as president and a director, overseeing the company’s technical and operational activities.
This leadership change comes as LaFleur Minerals advances due diligence with Trafigura Canada Limited regarding proposed prepayment and gold doré offtake arrangements. According to the company, representatives from Trafigura and LaFleur completed a two-day site visit to the Beacon Gold Mill and the Swanson Gold Project on August 10-11. The visit included inspections of the mill and process circuits, a review of recommissioning progress, and an inspection of the ongoing diamond drilling program at the Swanson Deposit.
The company emphasized that while due diligence is progressing, there is no assurance that definitive agreements will be reached or that they will be on the terms currently contemplated. Nevertheless, the potential offtake and prepayment arrangements could provide significant financial support for LaFleur’s development plans.
LaFleur Minerals is focused on developing district-scale gold projects in the Abitibi Gold Belt near Val-d’Or, Québec. The company’s key assets include the PEA-stage Swanson Gold Project and the Beacon Gold Mill. The Swanson Gold Project encompasses 481 claims and one mining lease covering 200.7 square kilometers, featuring several gold and critical metals prospects previously held by Monarch Mining, Abcourt Mines, and Globex Mining. The project is easily accessible by road, allowing direct access to several nearby gold mills, which enhances its development potential.
The Beacon Gold Mill has a capacity of over 750 tonnes per day and is being considered for processing mineralized material from Swanson and for custom milling operations for other nearby gold projects. LaFleur recently released a positive Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Swanson Gold Project and the planned restart of the Beacon Gold Mill. The PEA is preliminary in nature and includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. There is no certainty that the results of the PEA will be realized.
The appointment of a seasoned executive like Elinesky, combined with the progress in Trafigura’s due diligence, signals that LaFleur is taking steps to strengthen its leadership and secure potential funding. If the arrangements with Trafigura are finalized, they could provide the company with necessary capital to advance its projects and restart the mill, potentially boosting gold production in the region.
Investors and industry observers will be watching closely as LaFleur continues to advance its projects and corporate initiatives. The company’s ability to secure strategic partnerships and financing will be crucial for the successful development of its gold assets.
