New York CityPASS Adds Edge and Whitney, Lowers Price in Major Program Overhaul

City Pass, Inc. announced significant upgrades to its New York CityPASS program, shifting to a fully flexible format that lets travelers choose any five attractions from a curated list of 10 premier New York experiences. The changes, which take effect with the updated ticket, also include a notable price reduction, the company said.

The new lineup adds Edge Observation Deck & Immersive Experience and the Whitney Museum of American Art to an already strong collection that features the Empire State Building Observation Deck, American Museum of Natural History, Top of the Rock Observation Deck, 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Statue of Liberty Grounds and Ellis Island Official Ferry, Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises, Intrepid Museum and Guggenheim Museum.

Adult pricing drops from $164 to $149, while child pricing falls from $136 to $129. The company says advertised savings now reach as much as 51%, making the bundled ticket an even more attractive option for visitors trying to manage travel budgets in one of the world’s most expensive cities.

"These updates give travelers more control over how they experience New York," said Megan Allen, president and CEO of City Pass, Inc. "By moving to a fully flexible format, adding new attractions and lowering the ticket price, New York CityPASS tickets offer even greater value and make it easier than ever for visitors to build the New York experience that’s right for them, whether they’re drawn to breathtaking views, world-class art, iconic landmarks or cultural institutions."

Edge, located at Hudson Yards, is the highest indoor and outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, suspended more than 1,100 feet above Manhattan. It offers a glass floor, angled glass walls, Skyline Seats and 360-degree views. A major indoor transformation has turned it into a multi-sensory attraction with installations such as NYC’s largest kaleidoscope, the Pulse infinity room with 450 glowing orbs, 260 spinning mirrors in the Reflections light show and a canopy of giant colorful crystals in the Crystal Cave. Tao Group Hospitality provides reimagined food and beverage offerings.

The Whitney Museum, in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, is known for 20th- and 21st-century American art, including Edward Hopper’s Early Sunday Morning, Georgia O’Keeffe’s Summer Days and Andy Warhol’s Green Coca-Cola Bottles. It also hosts contemporary exhibitions and has outdoor terraces overlooking the Hudson River and the High Line.

New York CityPASS tickets remain valid for nine consecutive days from first use. Digital tickets are emailed and linked to the My CityPASS app, which allows users to access tickets, make and change reservations, get attraction details and directions, and receive entry instructions, notifications and special offers. The company said more information is available at citypass.com, and the original release can be viewed at www.newmediawire.com.

For nearly 30 years, CityPASS tickets have helped travelers access top North American attractions. Available in 17 destinations, they provide prepaid admission and savings of up to 50% off combined admission prices. The company said it has served more than 30 million travelers and earned more than 88,000 customer reviews with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars. Prices and programs are subject to change.
