EPH Group AG Plans Five-Star Luxury Resort in Burgenland, Austria

EPH Group AG, a Vienna-based investment and development company focused on hotel real estate in the DACH region, has signed purchase agreements for a roughly 2.6-hectare property in Central Burgenland, Austria, through its wholly owned subsidiary EPH BGL GmbH. The company plans to build an exclusive five-star resort with around 300 beds, according to a press release issued via NEWMEDIAWIRE.

The project is designed to combine contemporary luxury with the identity of one of Austria’s most renowned wine regions. Planned highlights include a spacious wellness area, private lodges set amid the vineyards with their own pools and private wellness areas, a rooftop restaurant with panoramic views, a stylish wine tavern known as a “Heuriger” directly in the vineyards, and a dedicated wine and culinary experience. The resort’s immediate proximity to a renowned thermal spa and a golf course further complements the concept. The panoramic setting, with views across Burgenland’s rolling hills toward Hungary, is intended to define the architectural and tourism experience.

EPH Group aims to strengthen Burgenland as a destination for discerning international guests while opening new prospects for regional tourism. The combination of wine, cuisine, wellness, and golf is expected to allow the resort to operate largely independently of seasons, supporting year-round tourism. In addition to direct jobs at the resort, regional hospitality and wine-growing businesses, producers, craft companies, service providers, and other tourism operators are intended to benefit from the value created.

“Burgenland combines a unique landscape with a rich tradition of wine and culinary culture, creating ideal conditions for discerning year-round tourism. With our resort, we want to bring these distinctive qualities together in an internationally positioned luxury hotel concept. It is important to us to make the identity of the region visible and tangible while at the same time generating sustainable momentum for regional value creation,” said Yasmin Wilfling, Member of the Management Board of EPH Group AG.

The purchase agreements are subject to conditions precedent, notably the acquisition requires a final and binding building permit for the planned resort. The project will be advanced step by step in accordance with local framework conditions. For future hotel operations, EPH Group plans cooperation with an internationally renowned hotel operator, consistent with its other projects.

Founded in 2023, EPH Group AG develops hotel projects through to construction readiness and realizes selected projects itself. With ten projects currently in Austria and Germany, the company has built a substantial pipeline. Its shares have traded in the Open Market of the Stuttgart Stock Exchange since 2025 and on the Primary Market of the Duesseldorf Stock Exchange since 2026, with trading also commencing on the Open Market of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and on Xetra in May 2026. Further information about the company and its projects is available at https://eph-group.com/en.

The announcement matters because it signals continued investor confidence in Austria’s upscale tourism sector and could deliver long-term economic momentum for Burgenland, a region known for its wine culture. If realized, the resort would add a significant luxury destination to Central Europe’s hospitality landscape, while tying the region’s agricultural and culinary strengths to an international year-round concept. The project remains contingent on permitting, but the signed agreements mark a key step in its development.
