Featured Expands Workflows to Free Plan, Democratizing PR Automation

Featured, the AI co-pilot for PR, announced today that Featured Workflows are now available on every plan, including its Free tier. Workflows are always-on automations that monitor journalist requests, HARO queries, podcasts, bylined article opportunities, speaking events, awards, media mentions, competitor coverage, and AI visibility on a user-defined schedule, delivering matched results via email or Slack.

This move matters because it puts continuous media monitoring within reach of founders and small businesses that typically cannot afford dedicated PR agencies or monitoring tools. Since Workflows launched on June 16, 2026, users have created 467 workflows that completed 26,239 runs and surfaced 93,012 matched opportunities, with 93% of runs finding at least one match, according to Featured’s Workflows Usage Report. Brett Farmiloe, CEO of Featured, explained the rationale: “PR opportunities can come up at any time, and manually searching for them every day is difficult to sustain. PR agencies already pay for monitoring. Most founders and small businesses never set it up. Putting Workflows on the Free plan means anyone can decide what to monitor and how often to hear about it, and Featured does the recurring research.”

Setting up a workflow is designed to be simple. Users go to featured.com/workflows, select a workflow type, and fill in three fields: what to look for, when to receive it, and where to send results. Alternatively, they can type a single sentence into Featured Chat, such as, “Send me HARO requests about small business finance every morning in Slack.” Workflows are configured in plain language rather than search syntax, with scheduling options ranging from hourly to custom cadence.

The platform monitors 12 types of opportunities, including journalist requests from sources like HARO, podcast discovery across 814,000 active shows, bylined article opportunities, speaking events, awards, and AI visibility across major language models. Notably, Featured Workflows stop at the opportunity; they do not automatically contact journalists or publishers. “Automation stops at the opportunity. A person still decides whether it’s relevant and what to say,” Farmiloe said. This human-in-the-loop approach distinguishes Featured from automated outreach tools, maintaining authenticity in media relations.

Free users can run Workflows until they hit the daily usage allowance, after which workflows pause and resume the next day. Paid plans, Lite at $29 per month and Pro at $79 per month (billed annually), offer higher allowances. By extending Workflows to its free tier, Featured is betting that democratizing access to PR automation will drive broader adoption and level the playing field for smaller players seeking media visibility.
