The ranking assessed products in the category against six weighted criteria. Those criteria were protein quality, calorie efficiency, added-sugar control, functional ingredient breadth, digestive support and value. RetailHub applied the heaviest weighting to protein quality at 25% and to calorie efficiency at 20%, and stated that products were compared using published nutrition panels, ingredient disclosures and current direct-from-brand pricing.
The Invigor8 Superfood Shake received an overall score of 4.9 out of 5.0 in the ranking. The article cited the product’s use of grass-fed whey protein concentrate and isolate, a serving size of 170 calories and a published panel listing eight ingredient complexes, including a prebiotic fiber complex, a green vegetable complex, an essential fatty acid complex, a digestive enzyme complex and a probiotic complex.
According to the ranking, the product provides 20 grams of protein per serving and contains no more than one gram of added sugar, using xylitol and stevia leaf extract in place of sugar. The article also noted that several of the smaller ingredient complexes are listed on the label as blends rather than as itemized doses.
