ALBUQUERQUE, NM — Trussell’s Transformations, a family-owned remodeling company, is celebrating 20 years in business this September. Founded in September 2006 by Danny Trussell and a business partner, the company began with a truck and operated out of the Trussell family’s garage. Two decades later, it has grown into a full-service home improvement operation with 17 employees and approximately 8,500 completed projects across Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and surrounding communities.
The company’s longevity and volume of work underscore its significant role in the local housing market. With nearly 8,500 kitchens, bathrooms, floors, and rooflines transformed, Trussell’s has left a lasting mark on the metro area’s housing stock. The milestone matters not just for the company’s survival, but for what it represents: consistent, hands-on craftsmanship delivered at scale over two decades.
Trussell’s Transformations opened in 2006 focused primarily on remodeling. In 2008, the company opened its own granite fabrication shop, bringing stonework in-house rather than outsourcing it. The business moved to its current Albuquerque location in 2015, and cabinet lines were added in 2017, rounding out a service menu that now includes cabinets, granite and quartz countertops, flooring, roofing, and other residential upgrades.
What distinguishes Trussell’s, according to the company, is its staffing model. Most work inside a customer’s home is performed by the company’s own employees rather than rotating subcontractors. That approach matters on larger projects involving multiple stages and trades, as homeowners see the same faces throughout instead of a new crew each week, with one team accountable for the entire job.
Danny and Christy Trussell currently own the company. Trussell’s Transformations holds a New Mexico GB-98 general contractor’s license and is a member of both the Home Builders Association of Central New Mexico and the Natural Stone Institute. These credentials reflect two decades of standing behind the work.
Homeowners can experience the company’s craftsmanship firsthand at its Albuquerque showroom, located at 8023 Edith Blvd NE. The showroom is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., closed on weekends. No appointment is necessary. Visitors can browse cabinet styles and door profiles, granite and quartz slabs, hardware finishes, and flooring samples, with design team members available to answer questions and help start planning a project.
Trussell’s Transformations also offers flexible financing options with quick approval and predictable monthly payments. The company says this decision is rooted in its philosophy of helping homeowners stop waiting for “someday” and start living in the home they want now.
“Trussell’s has always been more than a business to us. It’s been a huge part of our family’s life for the past 20 years,” Danny Trussell said. “Our kids basically grew up in this business. A lot of our employees have been with us so long they feel like family at this point, and honestly, plenty of our customers have turned into friends too. That’s what makes reaching 20 years so special.”
Looking ahead, co-owner Christy Trussell said, “Twenty years makes us incredibly proud of where we’ve been, but we’re also excited about what comes next. We want to keep helping families create homes that aren’t just beautiful, but truly work better for the way they live.”
As Trussell’s Transformations enters its next chapter, its 20-year history suggests that a focus on family, in-house craftsmanship, and long-term customer relationships can sustain a remodeling business through changing market conditions.
