FingerMotion Secures Alberta Site for AI Compute Campus, Advancing 99 MW Development Program

FingerMotion (NASDAQ: FNGR) has entered into a binding agreement with BlueFlare Group Holdings Inc. to acquire approximately 20.2 acres of land in Hanna, Alberta, for the development of Hanna Campus #1, an AI inference compute campus. The planned site is designed to incorporate 3 MW of local grid supply and 3 MW of behind-the-meter natural gas generation, providing a total capacity of 6 MW. This project is part of FingerMotion’s previously announced 99 MW Alberta development program, underscoring the company’s strategic expansion into AI infrastructure.

The agreement includes a 60-day due diligence period covering title, environmental condition, zoning and permits, utilities, access, and financing. Closing is scheduled 30 days after conditions are waived. BlueFlare will design, build, and operate the site’s power and infrastructure, with development permit applications planned during due diligence and construction expected to follow closing and permit approval. The acquisition highlights FingerMotion’s commitment to diversifying beyond its core mobile payment and recharge platform solutions in China.

FingerMotion is an evolving technology company with a core competency in mobile payment and recharge platform solutions in China. As its user base grows, the company is developing additional value-added technologies to market to its users. The vision is to rapidly grow the user base organically and develop an ecosystem of highly engaged users utilizing its innovative applications. Eventually, FingerMotion hopes to serve over 1 billion users in the China market and expand the model to other regional markets.

The move into AI compute infrastructure represents a significant pivot for FingerMotion, leveraging its technology expertise to tap into the growing demand for AI processing power. The Alberta project could position the company to benefit from the region’s energy resources and supportive regulatory environment for data centers. For investors, this development signals potential new revenue streams and diversification away from the Chinese mobile market.
