Greenland Mines Ltd (NASDAQ: GRML) (FSE: HK6) has completed its more than two-month 2026 field program at the Skaergaard Project in southeast Greenland, the company announced. The multidisciplinary campaign, which included 4,480 meters of diamond drilling across 17 holes and more than 105 tons of bulk material, is intended to advance the project toward metallurgical flowsheet development, mine and infrastructure planning, resource evaluation, environmental studies, and preparation of an Initial Assessment.
The program also incorporated mining-oriented geotechnical, structural, LiDAR, high-resolution aeromagnetic, ground-penetrating radar, and environmental baseline work. According to the company, these efforts are designed to support the next phases of development at Skaergaard, a large intrusion hosting precious-metal horizons.
The completion of the field program matters because it moves Skaergaard closer to an Initial Assessment, a key milestone that could define the project’s economic potential. The company’s 2026 S-K 1300 Mineral Resource Estimate includes 15 million ounces PdEq in Indicated Mineral Resources and 17.49 million ounces PdEq in Inferred Mineral Resources. Notably, the current estimate covers only approximately one-quarter to one-third of the intrusion hosting the defined precious-metal horizons, suggesting significant exploration upside remains.
Greenland Mines is also evaluating potential vanadium, iron, and gallium value streams alongside its palladium-platinum-gold flowsheet, though no economic credit is currently assigned to those potential by-products. If these by-products can be economically extracted, they could enhance project economics, but the company cautions that they remain unquantified.
For investors, the successful completion of the field program reduces operational risk and provides critical data for the next stage of study. The results will feed into metallurgical test work and mine planning, which are essential for demonstrating the viability of a future mining operation. The company’s strategy centers on building a multi-asset platform with exposure to rare earth magnet materials, precious metals, and select midstream processing opportunities, while advancing its broader North Atlantic Critical Metals Corridor vision linking Greenland resources with allied downstream jurisdictions and industrial infrastructure.
