Tropical Orthodontics has been awarded the 2026 Consumer Choice Award for Business Excellence, the tenth consecutive year the Mississauga-based practice has received the honour. The recognition, announced on October 10, 2026, underscores a decade of consistent patient satisfaction and clinical achievement from 2017 through 2026.
The Consumer Choice Award is one of Canada’s most respected business recognition programs, celebrating organizations that demonstrate outstanding service and customer satisfaction. For Tropical Orthodontics, the ten-year streak reflects sustained trust from families across Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Area, according to the practice.
Led by Dr. Joel Schacher, a certified orthodontist and founder, Tropical Orthodontics has become one of the most recognized orthodontic practices in Mississauga. Dr. Schacher has more than 40 years of experience and has helped thousands of children, teens, and adults achieve healthier smiles through advanced treatment and personalized care.
A graduate of the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Schacher completed orthodontic specialty training at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York. He is the founder and president of the Ontario Damon Study Club and has taught orthodontics to dental residents at Hamilton General Hospital. His professional contributions have earned respect from colleagues and patients throughout Canada and beyond.
“Receiving the Consumer Choice Award for ten consecutive years, from 2017 through 2026, is an incredible honour,” Dr. Schacher said. “This recognition reflects the trust our patients and families place in us every day. We remain committed to delivering exceptional orthodontic care, embracing innovation, and helping every patient achieve a healthy, confident smile.”
The practice offers a comprehensive range of services, including Invisalign and clear aligners, Pitts 21 braces, Damon braces, adult and teen orthodontics, bite correction, non-extraction orthodontics, and smile enhancement and teeth alignment treatment. It is particularly noted for using advanced systems that support efficient tooth movement, improved comfort, and long-term oral health while reducing the need for unnecessary extractions and invasive procedures.
Located in the heart of Mississauga, Tropical Orthodontics serves patients from Brampton, Oakville, Milton, Etobicoke, and across the Greater Toronto Area. The practice combines modern technology with a patient-first approach, creating customized treatment plans focused on both long-term health and exceptional outcomes.
The decade-long recognition matters because it signals durable patient trust in a competitive orthodontic market. Consumer Choice Awards are based on customer satisfaction, so ten straight years suggests consistent quality rather than a single good year. For families seeking orthodontic care, the milestone offers independent validation of the practice’s clinical and service standards.
As Tropical Orthodontics celebrates this achievement, the team remains focused on continuing the high standard of care, innovation, and patient experience that has defined the practice for more than a decade.
