Meeder Investment Management Creates New C-Suite Role to Lead Data and AI Strategy

Meeder Investment Management announced on Tuesday the appointment of Peeyush Shukla as Chief Data, AI and Technology Officer, a newly created leadership position that places technology at the highest level of the firm’s decision-making. Shukla becomes the first technology expert to serve on Meeder’s Leadership Team, a move the firm says reflects its growing investment in data, artificial intelligence and innovation as it positions its infrastructure to support long-term growth.

“Technology and data are increasingly important to how we operate, serve our clients and position Meeder for the future,” said Bob Meeder, President and Chief Executive Officer. “The addition of Peeyush to our Leadership Team represents an important investment in the future of our firm. He brings a rare combination of investment management experience, technology leadership and an understanding of how data and AI can create meaningful business value.”

In his new role, Shukla will lead Meeder’s data and technology strategy, including the continued development of enterprise platforms and artificial intelligence initiatives. His responsibilities bring together technology modernization, data capabilities and emerging technologies to support the firm’s strategic objectives. The appointment underscores a broader trend in asset management, where firms are increasingly treating data and AI as core operational functions rather than back-office support.

Shukla brings more than two decades of experience leading enterprise transformation across investment management and financial services. Before joining Meeder, he served as Head of Data, AI, and Technology at Heitman, where he modernized the firm’s global technology architecture, streamlined investment operating platforms and established enterprise data management, analytics and AI capabilities. Previously, as Managing Director of Multi-Asset Technology, Data and Analytics at Nuveen, he led technology and data initiatives to optimize investment platforms and helped establish enterprise data science and AI capabilities.

“Meeder has a strong foundation, an entrepreneurial culture and a clear commitment to investing in its future,” Shukla said. “There is tremendous opportunity to bring together data, AI and technology in ways that make our teams more effective, strengthen our capabilities and ultimately enhance how we serve our clients.”

Shukla holds an MBA with distinction in Finance and Strategy from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a master’s degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder and a Certified Financial Risk Manager, and serves as Vice Chairman of CFA Society Chicago.

Meeder Investment Management has been helping clients achieve their financial goals for more than 50 years. Serving public entities, institutions, financial advisors and individual investors, the firm offers mutual funds, model portfolios, cash management and personalized advisory services. With more than 150 associates and over $190 billion in assets under advisement as of December 31, 2025, Meeder is positioning its technology and data infrastructure to support continued growth and an evolving investment landscape.
