Western Star Resources Defines Priority Drill Targets at Rowland Tungsten Property, Plans 3,050-Foot Program

Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has defined two priority drill targets and outlined a planned six-hole, approximately 3,050-foot (930-metre) drill program at its 100% owned, past-producing Rowland Tungsten Property in Elko County, Nevada. The announcement, made on October 13, 2026, marks a significant step toward testing a modern, integrated dataset that could revive tungsten production in the United States, a critical mineral currently dominated by foreign supply.

The drill targets at Rowland Main and Northern Zone B were developed by integrating the company’s 2026 Phase 1 and Phase 2 field programs, a UAV magnetic survey, three-dimensional magnetic inversion, and rock-chip, channel, and soil assay results. According to the company, this is the first modern, integrated dataset assembled across the property. Each planned hole tests a tungsten-in-soil anomaly at depth where it coincides with a contact modeled by the magnetic inversion or with the ground beneath historical workings. All four planned drill pads are sited on existing disturbance, minimizing environmental impact.

At Rowland Main, three holes from a single pad beside the historical open cut will test a shallow modeled magnetic body beneath the soil anomaly, where rock-chip, float, and channel samples returned up to 4.02% WO3. A fourth hole will test the bedrock source of soil sample R079, which returned 4,240 ppm W (0.53% WO3), the highest value from the Phase 2 soil program. The planned holes are illustrated in Figure 1: Planned drill holes at the Rowland Tungsten Property over gridded tungsten-in-soil results. Hole locations are preliminary and subject to adjustment pending field verification and permitting. Detailed target information is available in Table 1: Rowland drill targets and planned drilling.

At Northern Zone B, two holes will test beneath historical shafts and an ore chute, where rock-chip samples returned 0.35% to 1.22% WO3, and the roof of a modeled magnetic body approximately 165 meters below surface. One hole, the longest at 700 feet, will test beneath soil sample R217 and trench workings. Cross-sections through the planned holes are provided in Figure 2: Rowland Main – plan and cross-section A–A′ through planned holes ROW26-01 to ROW26-03, with modelled magnetic susceptibility and the soil anomaly. and Figure 4: Northern Zone B – plan and cross-section C–C′ through planned holes ROW26-05 and ROW26-06.

Blake Morgan, CEO and President of Western Star, stated, “Rowland has come a long way in a single field season. We started with a historical record that pointed to one past-producing zone, and we are finishing with three zones of confirmed workings, an integrated modern dataset, and a ranked drill target inventory ready for permitting and drill testing.” He added that the company aims to “move towards bring a source of Tungsten back into the hands of the United Staes of America.”

Permitting is progressing, with KC Harvey Environmental preparing a Plan of Operations for submission to the U.S. Forest Service’s Mountain City–Ruby Mountains–Jarbidge Ranger District and the Nevada Bureau of Mining Regulation and Reclamation. The company will provide updates as milestones are reached.

In a separate move, Western Star has engaged PanAm Marketing Inc. to provide digital investor awareness services for a one-month campaign starting on or about October 15, 2026, at a total cost of CAD $60,000. The engagement is intended to increase visibility among investors as the company advances its tungsten assets.

The news matters because tungsten is a critical mineral essential for defense, aerospace, and manufacturing, and the U.S. currently imports most of its supply. Western Star’s systematic exploration at Rowland, a past-producing mine, could lead to a domestic source, reducing reliance on foreign nations. The planned drill program, if successful, would validate the integrated exploration model and potentially attract further investment. The original release is available on www.newmediawire.com.
