As the fitness industry gears up for its annual January surge, German sports nutrition brand TNT (True Nutrition Technology) is making a case for starting now. Following its recent participation at ECRM, where the company met with U.S. retail buyers to showcase its portfolio, TNT is turning its attention to a familiar seasonal pattern: waiting until the new year to reset fitness routines. The company argues that fall presents an opportunity to do the opposite, building consistency before the holiday season and entering January with momentum already established.
For many people, the transition from summer to fall disrupts training habits. Shorter daylight hours, changing temperatures, the end of vacations, the return of school schedules, and a shift toward indoor activities can all interfere with regular exercise. The approaching holidays add further pressure. TNT believes adapting to these changes is more useful than treating them as a reason to pause fitness goals until January.
“January gets a tremendous amount of attention in the fitness industry, but there’s no reason to wait for a date on the calendar to get serious about your routine,” said Markus Himmelstoss, Managing Director of TNT. “Fall can be a great time to reset, establish consistency and build habits that are already in place when the new year arrives.” He added that consistency does not require every workout to look the same. “Schedules change. Seasons change. The important thing is finding a routine that works with those changes instead of continually stopping and starting.”
The New Year’s fitness surge is a well-established phenomenon, with January often associated with new gym memberships and renewed attention to nutrition. TNT’s message this fall is that the habits people hope to begin in January can start in October. Establishing a realistic training schedule during the final months of the year allows people to experiment with workout times, adjust routines, and develop greater consistency before the calendar turns. That philosophy reflects TNT’s broader approach to sports nutrition, which emphasizes supporting an active lifestyle over time rather than focusing on short-term trends.
TNT’s portfolio includes Creapure Creatine Monohydrate, CLEAR WHEY protein isolate, Synapsensause Pre-Workout, and Game Changer, a carbohydrate and electrolyte formulation. The German brand, founded in 2012 by former athletes Michael Weigl and Himmelstoss, has built a customer base of more than 500,000 consumers and is now expanding its presence in the United States. Its recent ECRM participation was part of that effort, introducing U.S. retail buyers to TNT’s broader portfolio while the company continues building awareness and distribution in the American market.
U.S. consumers can purchase TNT products through Amazon and OneLavi. The company’s push into the U.S. market comes as it seeks to translate its German quality standards and evidence-based formulations into broader international recognition.
“Whether someone trains year-round or is trying to get back into a routine, the fundamentals don’t suddenly become important on January 1,” Himmelstoss said. “Our message is to start where you are, build consistency and carry that momentum into the new year.” For a brand looking to grow in the U.S., that message may resonate with consumers who are already thinking about their next fitness reset—and who might not want to wait until the ball drops.
