Former Traverse City Attorney Joins Alward Fisher Law Firm

Alward Fisher, a Northern Michigan law firm based in Traverse City, has added former Traverse City City Attorney Lauren E. Trible-Laucht to its team of attorneys. The firm announced the move on October 16, 2026, highlighting Trible-Laucht’s 15-year tenure as the city’s top legal counsel and her deep ties to the region.

Trible-Laucht served as City Attorney for the City of Traverse City from 2011 to 2026, acting as in-house general counsel. In that role, she advised municipal departments, city officials, and the city commission on a wide range of matters, including property transactions, development agreements, ordinance drafting and enforcement, labor and employment, municipal governance, zoning and land use, contracts, and litigation. Her experience in these areas is expected to translate directly to the firm’s municipal and private clients across Northern Michigan.

Before her tenure with the city, Trible-Laucht was an associate attorney with Jon H. Kingsepp PLLC, where she served as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Clawson. She represented municipal and private clients in litigation, contract negotiations, and labor matters. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in 2008, after serving as a judicial intern to U.S. District Judge Gerald E. Rosen in the Eastern District of Michigan. She was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan that same year. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Kalamazoo College, earned in 2002, and studied law, constitutional law, and German at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn, Germany, as a Kalamazoo College Fellow.

Edward Price, the firm’s Managing Partner, said he was honored to have Trible-Laucht join Alward Fisher. “Lauren is an incredible addition to the team,” he said. “We admire her sharp legal experience, as well as her devotion to the Traverse City community. At Alward Fisher, our mission is to provide peace of mind to our clients, whether they’re struggling with a divorce, a business dispute, financial trouble, estate planning, or criminal law matters. We believe Lauren is the perfect attorney to further that mission.”

Trible-Laucht said she is looking forward to the new role. “I’m very proud to join Alward Fisher,” she said. “I have spent the last 15 years assisting the Traverse City community address some very big issues. I’m looking forward to putting my skills to work for clients in Northern Michigan in a whole new capacity.”

The addition of Trible-Laucht matters because it brings high-level municipal law expertise to a firm that serves a broad range of private clients, from families to businesses. Her background in zoning, land use, and development agreements could be particularly valuable as Northern Michigan continues to grow and face complex property and regulatory issues. Alward Fisher handles banking, business and corporate law, civil litigation, criminal defense, estate planning and probate, family law, and real estate law. The firm’s team now includes 14 attorneys with over 100 years of combined legal experience.
