Kami Alaniz, a Registered Nurse with more than 33 years of experience, has completed the build-out of Just Brooke, LLC, transforming what began in 2025 as Helping People Like Me Ministry into a multi-faceted company that now includes publishing, coaching, educational programs, media and ministry. The announcement matters because it marks a shift from vision to execution for an enterprise aimed at people who are exhausted from caregiving and uncertain about their next chapter, a population Alaniz knows from both her nursing career and her own life.
Just Brooke now operates through two main arms: Helping People Like Me Ministry — A Just Brooke Kingdom Initiative, which serves as the faith-centered mission, and Just Brooke Productions, the publishing and production brand. Alaniz’s books are being published and sold on Amazon, with additional titles in development. Her expanded website, www.JustBrooke.net, consolidates her books, coaching, courses, classes, ministry and media in one place.
A central thread is Alaniz’s R3B Empowerment Method™, which stands for Remove Blocks, Reset, Rediscover Yourself, and Build Your Dream Life. The framework reflects her own experience of working, caring for others and persisting through exhaustion and disappointment while believing, as she puts it, that God has more for one’s life.
Alaniz continued working as a traveling nurse while building the company, an arrangement that kept her close to patients, families and healthcare professionals facing issues beyond the medical chart. Those encounters, involving financial concerns, caregiver burnout and uncertainty about next steps, convinced her that the different sides of her work belong together.
That conviction is central to her newest media venture, APPROVED or DENIED: Decoding Medicare, Medicaid, & Beyond — For Professionals, Patients & Providers. The weekly podcast airs Thursdays at 7:00 a.m. Central and draws on her decades in nursing to explore healthcare decisions and the personal realities surrounding them. The “& Beyond” in the title is intentional: a conversation may start with Medicare or Medicaid but often touches exhaustion, family worry, faith or other life changes. Alaniz is adding guests from different professional backgrounds and includes a Book of the Week segment tying her published work to each episode’s topic.
Just Brooke Productions has also launched Across the Table with Kami, a short-form video series covering healthcare, books, faith and other issues from her work. The growing media presence is opening another direction Alaniz wants to pursue more actively: speaking to healthcare professionals, patients, families, churches, conferences and community organizations on topics such as burnout, forgiveness, purpose and moving forward after difficult seasons. She says she wants to give audiences something they can actually use, not just an inspirational message, and points to her books, classes, coaching and other resources as ways to continue that work.
Alaniz expects continued growth across Just Brooke Productions, her publishing work, podcast and speaking, but she remains tied to the original mission of reaching people who recognize something of themselves in her story, particularly those who have spent years caring for others. “When I look back at where I was when I started and compare it with where we are today, it is pretty incredible,” she says. A few years ago she was explaining what Just Brooke might become; today, she says, she can show people.
