Leadership Series Aims to Bridge AI Readiness Gap with Ethics-First Approach

As organizations race to adopt artificial intelligence faster than their leaders can manage it, a new virtual leadership series aims to close the readiness gap by putting ethics and human judgment at the center of technological change. Dr. Char Dennis, Ed.D., an educational leader, AI strategist, author, and U.S. Army veteran, will launch Lead Beyond the Title on December 3, 2026. The four-session series is part of her expanding keynote and consulting work to help people and organizations lead ethically, communicate powerfully, and create meaningful impact.

The timing reflects a stark reality: a July 2026 study by ManpowerGroup Talent Solutions found that only 3% of organizations say their leaders are highly prepared to manage AI-enabled ways of working, while 78% report employee concern about how AI will affect their jobs. That gap between adoption and preparedness is why the series matters. It offers a structured way for executives, superintendents, principals, college administrators, nonprofit and healthcare leaders, and emerging leaders to assess their readiness, guide teams through change, and communicate decisions with clarity to boards, staff, and communities.

“Every decision a leader makes shapes human possibility,” Dennis said. “Especially now, in the age of AI, innovation has to be anchored in ethics. Technology should expand what people can do, not replace human judgment or leave communities behind.”

Her guiding beliefs are direct: AI is a tool, not a replacement for human judgment and ethical leadership; every organization, whatever its size or sector, needs an AI readiness strategy; and ethical AI governance is not optional but a leadership imperative. Those principles will shape the four sessions, which are held virtually so participants can join from anywhere.

Over the series, participants will assess their leadership and AI readiness, define goals, lead people through change while protecting trust and morale, communicate decisions to stakeholders, build resilience, mentor emerging leaders, and complete a personal leadership and communications plan. The curriculum reflects four principles that shape Dennis’s approach: leadership as a moral act, equity fuels excellence, innovation anchored in ethics, and community as the ultimate impact.

The broader implication is that as schools and organizations rush to adopt AI, the most pressing challenge may not be the technology itself but the human capacity to govern it responsibly. Dennis argues that leadership is not a title but a responsibility to the people served. “When we lead with purpose, mentor with intention, and use technology with conscience, we don’t just build stronger organizations. We build stronger communities,” she said.

Dennis brings more than 25 years of experience in education, marketing, public relations, and philanthropy. She holds a B.A. in History from Auburn University, an M.B.A., an M.P.H., and both an M.S. and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, complemented by certifications in AI strategy, AI governance, AI ethics, and machine learning. She is the founder and CEO of 1KMEG PR, founder of Academic Sports Solutions, and executive producer and host of the My Style Live podcast. She is the author of “Women Transforming Nonprofits and Communities” and “Leadership in the Digital Age: AI Strategies.”
