Nicola Mining Processes Red Eye Stockpiles, Targets Q4 Revenue at Merritt Mill

Nicola Mining (NASDAQ: NICM) (TSX.V: NIM) (FSE: HLIA) has completed processing of Red Eye Resources stockpiles at its Merritt Mill, with concentrate assay results pending ahead of anticipated fourth-quarter 2026 revenue recognition, the company said in an operational update. The development marks a key step in the junior miner’s transition from development-stage activity toward commercial results at its fully permitted mill near Merritt, British Columbia.

The company has also initiated arrangements to transport and process approximately 1,300 tonnes of mineralized material from its Dominion Gold Project, where additional gold- and silver-bearing veins were identified during mine development. That additional feed is expected to contribute to processing activity in the fourth quarter, according to the update.

Why the announcement matters: Nicola’s business model hinges on generating revenue from third-party and company-owned mill feed at a time when many junior miners struggle to secure processing capacity. The Merritt Mill is fully permitted to process both gold and silver mill feed via gravity and flotation processes, and the company maintains Mining and Milling Profit Share Agreements with high-grade gold projects. Successful processing of the Red Eye stockpiles and the Dominion material would provide tangible evidence that the mill can convert stockpiled and newly developed material into saleable concentrate.

CEO Peter Espig said the company expects anticipated concentrate sales and additional processing activity in the fourth quarter to support its transition toward commercial results and establish a stronger operating foundation for 2027. The timing is significant because fourth-quarter revenue recognition would give Nicola its first meaningful commercial cash flow and could strengthen its negotiating position with partners and financiers.

Separately, Blue Lagoon Resources continues to advance mine development and production expansion following a $10 million financing commitment from Nicola and Ocean Partners UK Limited. That commitment underscores Nicola’s broader strategy of using its processing infrastructure and balance sheet to participate in the development of high-grade precious metals projects, rather than relying solely on its own mining assets.

Nicola also owns 100% of the New Craigmont Project, a high-grade copper property covering 10,913 hectares along the southern end of the Guichon Batholith and adjacent to Highland Valley Copper, Canada’s largest copper mine. In addition, it owns 100% of the Treasure Mountain Property, which includes 30 mineral claims and a mineral lease spanning more than 2,200 hectares. Those assets provide longer-term optionality, but near-term attention is likely to remain on the Merritt Mill and the pace of concentrate sales.

For investors, the key takeaway is that Nicola is moving from permitting and development milestones to operational execution. Pending assay results and the scheduled processing of Dominion material will determine whether the company can meet its fourth-quarter revenue target.
